Charles Sturt University
CSU has developed the first inland Australia program of veterinary science.
Merat Pty Ltd were commissioned to develop the physical requirements for the last two years of the program that will take place in the new Clinical Centre.
The clinical centre comprises three buildings, the Clinical Teaching facility of 1,000 sq. metres, a reproduction teaching facility of 580 sq. metres as well as a Stables building of 260 sq. metres
Merat Pty Ltd coordinated the workshops for briefing and presented a number of design alternatives.
Of particular interest is the high content of environmentally sustainable features. Careful consideration to building orientation and the selection of envelope materials together with active controls of lighting and air conditioned space has reduced the running costs substantially.
