CYTOKINE BIOLOGY RESEARCH FACULTY

Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research
The Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research is at the forefront of cancer research.
Part of the LICR research program required the development of Cytokine Biology Laboratory that houses zebrafish within controlled aquatic environs.
The zebrafish provides a model system for studying blood cell function. Using fluorescence, selected white cells are visible within the transparent zebrafish providing a convenient protein marker.
Merat Pty Ltd, Architects designed the complete facility including the fish tanks and the controlled environs from water filtration to room conditioning.
Due to the nature of the work, the introduction of genetic material, the laboratories are PC2 compliant.
