This existing Council managed facility built in the 1960’s had been underutilised and become rundown in condition. Merat Pty Ltd Architects’ concept refocused the internal rooms to take advantage of external areas and expanded the centre into an adjacent double garage on site. The resulting plan improved staff security, public access and outlook.

It was finalist in the City sponsored Urban Design Awards in 2003.
