MERAT Pty Ltd Architects were appointed as head consultants to redevelop the major teaching components within the Department’s Parkville building.

 The first floor computer laboratory, 80 sq. metres and the second floor practical teaching laboratories of 550 sq. metres were originally built in the 1960’s and were in run down condition, with segmented areas that made teaching communication difficult.

The new concept for the clinical teaching laboratories consolidated four seminar groups into one large open planned space with the lecturer taking advantage of audio-visual medium to convey the lesson to 120 students in one class sitting.
