Merat Pty Ltd Architects were appointed as head consultants to develop the Clinical Trials Victoria Laboratories. This presented another challenge to the firm; to design a facility based on a limited brief given the Client’s uncertainty as to the future direction that the research initiatives might take. The broad purpose for the laboratories is to conduct biological assays to complement and enhance clinical trials.

The new laboratories were opened by the Hon. John Brumby, Former Victorian State Premier.
